The WNG Key Dip Tool

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

This beautifully designed key dip tool from WNG will cut your regulating time in half and increase dip accuracy for more consistent results.

After you finish leveling keys, set your desired key dip on a sample key (the caliper method is recommended for accuracy). Place the tool on the key that you sampled, and adjust the float screw with a screwdriver so that the aluminum float on the top is completely level with the screw. It should look and feel completely even.

Once the tool is calibrated, all you have to do is move it from note to note, observing the relationship of the screw with the aluminum float and making the necessary adjustments with punchings. Here is a photo of a pink punching (size .007) inserted on the same key demonstrating the visual accuracy of the screw and float.
